Grenada
GrenadaGrenada, the most southerly of the Islands, is also the smallest, covering just 133 sq miles. It is known as the Spice Island because of its nutmeg and mace industries. It is also the smallest banana producer of the four islands. Its capital, St George's, remains unspoilt and picturesque, with a central deep-water harbour well stocked with fish.

Tourism is a major revenue earner for the 100,000 residents of Grenada and there are a number of international hotels and an international airport. The island gained full independence in 1974.
